Today and Tomorrow:

Two Needs, Two Ways of Giving

Today and Tomorrow: Two Needs, Two Ways of Giving Rotarians around the world give generously to their Foundation to accomplish a wide range of educational, cultural, and humanitarian programs. These gifts ensure that dreams of a better life become reality for thousands of deserving people throughout the world.

The cornerstone of The Rotary Foundation is the Annual Programs Fund. Without the continuing annual commitments from Rotarians, there would be no Ambassadorial Scholars, no Group Study Exchanges, no Matching Grants, no 3 H Grants. The Annual Programs Fund allows the Foundation to support a predictable level of recurring programming.

To ensure the Foundation's strong future, the Trustees have authorized a new initiative to build the Permanent Fund. This endowed fund, to which Rotarians already have contributed over US$60M, is invested in perpetuity. A portion of the funds is allocated to benefit Foundation programs. The earnings will provide an extra stream of income to meet the increasingly expensive delivery of international humanitarian, cultural, and educational activities and to ensure the Foundation's ability to meet urgent human needs into the future. A target of US$1 billion by 2025 has been established.

The Annual Programs Fund and the Permanent Fund are equally deserving of support; they complement each other. The Annual Programs Fund supports the Foundation's programs today; the Permanent Fund is designed to secure the programs for tomorrow.

We invite you to invest in today's Rotary Foundation by making yearly gifts to the Annual Programs Fund.

And we invite you to invest in tomorrow by designating a gift from your current assets or a portion of your estate to the Permanent Fund. By participating, you will join fellow Rotarians whose combined efforts continue to improve and enrich the lives of thousands of needy people around the globe.
