Information About District 4700

The outbound 2009 Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team spent a weekend in Angels Camp on a team retreat with Team Leader Jim Eaton (Roseville) and Alternate Team Leader Rick Davis (Sacramento). The purpose of this retreat was to narrow the team down to the team and the alternates. The team truly bonded through team building activities and leadership exercises. From meal preparation to a scavenger hunt at CalaverasBigTreePark, the responsibility of representing District 5180 was integrated into the selection process. One activity the team really enjoyed was a trust based game called lighthouse. 7800 miles from home will call for trust over the 30 day life changing experience. Team Members for 2009 include: Ge Moua, Sacramento Kaleb Taylor, GraniteBay Monica Chavez, Fair Oaks Thelema Dietler, Fair Oaks Shelley Bald, Arden Arcade-Alternate Two members exited the team for personal reasons prior to the final team selection process. Now it is on preparation. Your Club President has been contacted by a team member to obtain background on “hands on projects here in the district or abroad” . 5180 is so involved in both the local and international community, we want to demonstrate our commitment with elbow grease in addition to $$$$. Our language training started on December 5th and we will be busy for the next five months. Until next time, Jim Eaton, Team Leader 2009 to Rio Grande del Sul, Brasil.
