In the Community

Established in 1959, South Sacramento Rotary plays an important role in the local community. Some of the many programs that South Sacramento Rotary supports are

  • WEAVE Donationthe YMCA,
  • the Sacramento Children’s Home,
  • the Boy Scouts,
  • the Girl Scouts,
  • WEAVE,
  • the Drowning Accident Rescue Team,
  • the Center for Fathers and Families,
  • the Moral Values Program,
  • the Salvation Army Christmas campaign, and
  • Camp Grizzly.

In addition, South Sacramento Rotary is working with several other clubs to construct a “Rotary House” near Shriners Hospital. This facility would give the families of children who are patients at Shriners a place to stay while their child is in the hospital.

All members are encouraged and supported in their personal service activities, and it is often from the club that members draw volunteers for other worthy activities.
