With Youth

A primary focus of Rotary is youth. In the Sacramento area, South Sacramento Rotary provides

• scholarships for high school seniors and community college students,
  
• recognition for outstanding high school and community college students,
  
• an annual speech contest,
  
• dictionaries for third graders in local elementary schools,
  
• books for school libraries,
  
• first books for kindergarteners,
  
• support for Luther Burbank High School’s special education program, and
  
• support for Luther Burbank High School’s NJROTC program.

In addition, students from Luther Burbank assist club members at their annual crab feed by serving food, selling raffle tickets, and helping with clean up. South Sacramento Rotary is always looking for new ways to support the work of schools and involve youth in service to their community.
